Videorecorder, DVR, Media Player & Camera w/FM RadioCurrently Out of Stock 2.5GB total - 512MB internal memory plus bonus 2GB SD card, silver or black colorClick here for features & specsThis videorecorder does everything, and still fits in a shirt pocket. It's also one of the few all-in-ones I've seen that has a nice-looking, simple to use, fast user interface. It's a video camera, DVR (video recorder) w/TV line-in, digital camera, PC webcam, video player with TV output, photo slideshow player with TV output, MP3 player, audio recorder, FM radio and e-book viewer. It can also print digital photos directly to PictBridge-compatible printers, and has 4 games. Whew. The coolest feature on this thing is the line-in video recording DVR function...it's very easy to plug into your DVD player or TV set and leave it to record a movie or show to watch anywhere. It records video as 320x240 ASF files from anything with analog video & audio output...a TV, DVD player, camcorder etc. Playback is a little choppy, which I hardly notice on the 2-1/2" LCD screen except during action sequences...it's more distracting when playing on a TV screen. There's room on the 2GB memory card to record over 6-1/2 hours of video, and still have space in the 512MB internal memory for music, photos, or another over 1-1/2 hours of video. The camcorder function works nicely...it saves video in the same 320x240 ASF format as the DVR function, and playback is smooth. You can set it to record at 30 or 15 frames per second. There's no zoom function. Can also play back AVI, Quicktime, MPG, WMV, and Realmedia video files, either on the LCD or output to your TV/DVD player, after converting to ASF files with the included software. At least I think most AVI and Quicktime files will require conversion; it has partial support for these formats but wouldn't play the few that I tried. It has an "effective"4-megapixel digital camera, meaning the 2-megapixel sensor is "interpolated" to simulate 4 megapixels at the highest resolution of 2304x1728. Whatever. The truth is, regardless of the resolution setting, still photos taken with this camera don't compare with those from a Canon or Sony digital still camera; it's fine for quick snapshots though. The camera has 4x digital zoom, no optical zoom, and no flash or night mode. The image viewer lets you zoom in on pictures and can play a slideshow on the LCD or out to a TV or videorecorder. It'll display JPEG images, and BMP, GIF, TIFF and PCX can be converted with the included software. It can also display text files as an "e-book". The MP3 player supports MP3, unprotected WMA and WAV audio files through headphones/earbuds or the included speaker. You can also convert unprotected AAC files with the included software. Includes support for LRC lyrics files which are displayed during playback. There are 7 preset EQ settings, which sound fine though a pair of good headphones...the included earbuds and speaker could use more bass response. The FM tuner uses the earbuds or headphones as an antenna, and lets you automatically or manually program up to 20 presets. Can also record MP3 files from the FM radio or the built-in mic. Despite my complaints about the digital still camera, there's very little that I don't like about this DVR. It'd be nice if the music player kept playing when you go to another menu, and a timer to record a TV show at a certain time would be great. But considering how many things this little gadget can do, while remaining easy to use & small enough to take with you anywhere...I've gotta say it's pretty neat. Available in silver or black color. Includes 2GB bonus memory card, earbuds, USB cable, battery charger w/ AC outlet adapter as needed for your country, AV in/out cable, soft pouch, lanyard, webcam support stand, English manual and software CD.
